They just had to go...

the sliding glass door was here when we bought the house 10 years ago,
and it had been replaced once...

so...we put in "french doors"...the ones with the mini blinds inside...

even though you can't tell, there white.

the OLD Utility room door...

the NEW Utility room door...It was a "special order" I got it with a screen window, so now I can open it and the kitchen window and get a cross breeze. I couldn't ever open the kitchen window before because it didn't have a screen. This door is also covered under the tax credit.

Just a note: all the doors(Masonite) were bought at Home Depot, and the windows
came from NT Windows out of Dallas.

P.S. Now he wants a new roof...

If we're doing the windows...

can we replace the front door too...

I like this one...

a NEW front door...

It's also covered under the tax credit and we'll get back 30% next year...

it opens, it closes, it doesn't stick, it doesn't leak air around the edges, and it had a dead bolt lock!
Now what about the utility room door?

I have a secret...

where are my animal crackers...

Grammy...I only took a couple...

SEE!

and you know what? Next year I'll have a sister to come camping too...

Putting in the windows...

T & E of Texarkana put the windows in... for the 3 referrals, so far, I have given them they even threw in new shutters. The old shutters were white...please give me your opinion of the new ones, I'm not sure about the color.

this is what they hauled away...

1st window...the kitchen "before"

out with the old...

in with the new...

next up the dining room...

its gone...

so pretty...

the front bathroom... putting in the screws.

caulking the edges...

Oh yeah!

Once upon a time we built a wall...I painted it a pretty blue...

and then they pocked a whole in it...

and started sawing into my pretty blue wall...

I see daylight...

Oh look... a window... (notice the pretty white ceiling fan, yeah we have a new one, now)

and then Kenneth said "Just tear down the whole thing" and we had three windows.

from the front - outside...

and then there were three new windows...

Kenneth is rebuilding the sheet-rock wall, only this time will keep the pretty window.

the last window... Sam's room.

see how pretty they match the screen and the white picket fence.

then they put up the new shutters...

I just love it when a plan comes together. Even if it took 8 years.

Surprise, surprise...

see this tag... this is for tax credit energy - efficient windows...

there are three waiting outside the house...waiting to be put in.

this one goes in the dining room...

this one is for the living room...

and these three are going in our bedroom...
We got new window! I am so excited... and we get back 30% of the cost next year.
Hmm... how to spend this new found $$ next year?

Easter eggs...

when we went camping it was Easter...

So we "hid" eggs (in plain sight) for Emily...

and she picked them up, but she was really more interested in the pink grass...

Mom and Dad colored eggs, she was more interested in looking at herself in the mirror...

It was a fun weekend.
